The Comprehensive Diagnostic Assessment includes a thorough clinical interview, a well-validated self-report and personality battery, and disorder-specific measures, followed by a detailed written report and a feedback session with specific treatment directions and referrals to trusted providers.

This level does not include cognitive testing, so neurodevelopmental questions such as ADHD, autism, intellectual functioning, and memory are evaluated at the neuropsychological level instead. If the intake suggests cognition belongs in your question, we will tell you directly and recommend the right level.

The Comprehensive Diagnostic Assessment is $1,500 for adults and $1,750 for children and adolescents, all-inclusive, with the $175 telehealth intake credited toward your total and a Good Faith Estimate provided before services begin. These are introductory community rates, set below the typical Utah market for comparable evaluations.

We schedule your testing dates at the intake and keep turnaround fast: your evaluation is a priority, not a place in a queue. Exact timing varies with scheduling and current volume.

That is one of the most common reasons people come. When treatment stalls, it is often because the diagnostic picture was never clear enough to aim treatment at the right target, and clarifying the primary diagnosis frequently points to a different treatment direction.

Does insurance cover it?

We are in-network with the Huntsman Mental Health Institute Behavioral Health Network (HMHI-BHN), the mental health benefit for University of Utah employees and dependents; covered members are billed through their plan, not self-pay. All other clients are self-pay with published pricing, and we provide a detailed superbill for out-of-network reimbursement. We are unable to serve individuals covered by Medicare, including Medicare Advantage.
